Victorian pews are being sold for £200 a piece after a church controversially opted to refurbish its interior.
St Nicholas Church, in Tillingham, hit national headlines in 2011 when more than 300 parishioners launched a campaign to oust the Rev Lorna Smith over her conduct and proposed church overhaul.
The proposals were temporarily shelved and Rev Smith stayed in her post.
But now, following her announcing her retirement, residents are "disgusted" after the church's renovation project manager, Bryan Ledger, revealed the pews are being sold.
