Boating enthusiasts can enjoy a river festival on Sunday.

Fambridge Yacht Haven River Festival will be held by the waterfront at the Yacht Station, Ferry Road, in the village of North Fambridge from 10am on May 24.

There wil be plenty of local and historic sailing craft opening their hatches for people to explore and learn more about the rich maritime heritage.

The Yacht Station visitor pontoon will host an 80ft Steam powered puffer, a 64ft celebrated sailing smack, a 60ft Dutch Barge and several Thames sailing Barges.

On site, the Society of Sailing Barge Research will be open to give an interesting insight into the history of the classic Thames Sailing Barge.

Also down on the water there will be lots going on, including the Old Gaffers 30th Anniversary Yacht Race, a costal rowing boat race and a charity duck race for the whole family to enjoy.

To keep visitors entertained, there will be live folk music and even a treasure hunt and paper boat making for the kids and young at heart.

The ferry Boat Inn will be providing the on-site catering with a licensed outdoor bar and BBQ.
