Train services between the district and London are exceeding previous performance levels.

The metro line, running between Liverpool Street and Southminster, serving North Fambridge, Althorne and Burnham, is performing better than it has done in the past 12 months.

In the four weeks up to May 2, the line achieved 93.09 per cent in public performance measure, the way train companies measure and report the performance of services.

Over the last year it received 91.92 per cent.

It is calculated by counting the number of trains which arrive at their destination on time.

If a train is four minutes late or more, it counts as a failure.
