A scarecrow festival will be taking place in two villages.

Over the early May bank holiday weekend, residents and businesses of Bradwell and St Lawrence will be displaying their straw-filled creations.

Organisers are hoping that everyone will join in by making a scarecrow and putting it up in their front garden or outside their shop or business.

To get the ball rolling, organisers will be holding a scarecrow workshop tomorrow, Saturday April 18, between 10am - noon in St Thomas’ churchyard.

On the festival days, May 3 and 4, maps will be available of all the scarecrows on display and will be available at both churches, the Church Centre in St Lawrence and Bradwell Community Shop.

Everyone is welcome to join in the fun either by making a scarecrow or seeing how well everyone else has done.

Rosettes will be awarded for the best three in each village.
