Budding young cricketers can enjoy taster sessions of the sport.
Maldon Cricket Club will be holding its Introduction to Cricket evenings starting from today (April 17) at the Drapers Farm ground in Drapers Chase, Heybridge.
These popular sessions have now been held for 28 years on a Friday evening between 6.30pm and 7.45pm.
They are for primary school children, from reception year to Year 6, and are fun-based sessions where all equipment is provided.
Soft balls are used and all coaches have been CRB checked.
A club spokesman said: “For parents, this is a great opportunity to unwind for the weekend as the licensed bar is open and you can sit in the early evening sunshine with a glass in hand and watch.
“There is plenty of seating and free parking too.
“If you haven’t discovered your local child friendly cricket club yet, then now is the chance.”
There is a one off cost of £8 for the season and then just £2 per week when attending.
Simply turn up on a Friday night and register your child.
