FIVE fire crews helped tackle a huge blaze in a derelict building.
Essex Fire Service has launched an investigation to find the cause of the blaze in Hullbridge Road, South Woodham Ferrers.
Firefighters from stations in Rayleigh Weir, Wickford, Chelmsford and South Woodham Ferrers spent two and a half hours tackling the flames.
They were called out at about 7pm yesterday, and on arrival at the scene reported the derelict building was 100 per cent alight.
Firefighters used an aerial ladder platform, water bowser, two jets and three hose reels to put out the blaze.
