A gym owner was left disgusted after arriving at work to find a swastika spray painted on his listed premises.
Adrian Francis, who owns the Old Iron Works Gym in Fullbridge, Maldon, found the 2ft black fascist symbol next to the entrance.
He said: “The police are treating it quite seriously because it could be some sort of hate crime.
“I run a successful, friendly gym that supports local people and can’t see why someone would put that next to the door.
An Essex Police spokesman said: “Police are investigating after a gym was daubed with offensive graffiti.”
