A fun run organised to raise money in memory of a Maldon man who died of bowel cancer attracted more than 220 runners.

Those taking part in the Santa Fun Run organised by the David Randall Foundation gathered in Promenade Park to run or walk either three or five kilometres.

Trustee Mike Randall said: "The David Randall Foundation Santa Fun Run was a great success.

"The weather was perfect, we had a brilliant team of organisers and helpers and about 220 Santas bringing the park alive. "It was quite spectacular when they all gathered at the start for the pre run warm up.

"The Trustees would like to thank all those who helped to organise the run, all the additional help on the day and of course all the Santas who took part so enthusiastically.

"The David Randall Santa Fun Run will definitely be an annual event and next year we will aim to attract even more entrants. Maybe 400!"
