A living crib scene was a novel way to count down to Christmas.

Burnham United Reformed Church held the service on December 21, which included a lifesize stable complete with sheep, lambs and a Shetland pony.

Logistics co-ordinator Yvonne Deacon, 52, of Alexander Road, Burnham, who helped arrange the event, was thrilled with how it went.

She said: “It went really well, we had a few faux pas, the pony had to go outside before he made a mess, but the lambs were lovely and the kids were alright too.

“It was absolutely packed, probably between 100-150 people and a lot of work went into it."
