As the National Lottery celebrates 20 years of making people’s dreams come true, The Standard looked back at how it has helped local people and organisations.
A Maldon-based charity was given a £9,360 grant to enable them to provide three residential trips for vulnerable adults.
The Sea-Change Sailing Trust provides residential opportunities on board traditional sailing vessels and in 2013, the lottery grant enabled them to run three trips for The Dementia Adventure charity and The Woolverstone Project.
Don Ramsay, the trust administrator for Sea-Change, said: “Without the national lottery, an awful lot of good charity work around the country couldn’t be done.”
