A man has pleaded guilty to causing death by dangerous driving following a road collision in Bicknacre which killed an 18-year-old man.
Nicholas Weston, a 22-year-old fence erector from Pedlars Path in Danbury appeared before Chelmsford Crown Court yesterday.
He pleaded guilty to one count of causing death by dangerous driving as well as one count of causing serious injury to another passenger by dangerous driving.
The collision happened when Weston, who was driving a Ford Escort van, lost control of his vehicle while travelling along Leighams Road and struck a tree shortly after 9:30pm on Saturday, September 28, 2013.
One of the four passengers, 18-year-old William Andrews from Shirebourn Vale in South Woodham Ferrers, was certified dead at the scene.
Another passenger, Joshua Cumberland, who was 18 at the time but is now 19, was seriously injured in the collision.
Weston will be sentenced at Chelmsford Crown Court on Friday, December 19.
He has been bailed until his court appearance but is not allowed to drive.
