A firecrew assisted paramedics in rescuing a man from his loft, after he had broken his ankle.
A fire engine from Maldon was sent to assist the ambulance crews in retrieving the casualty from his loft, in Butt Lane, Maldon.
A spokesman for the Essex Fire Service said: "We were called at 12.30pm and had got the man down by 1.13pm."
An ambulance took the man, suffering from a fractured ankle, to Broomfield Hospital.
