Ever heard about the missing Tillingham phone box?

If the lyrics ring a bell then perhaps you are a fan of the Tillingham band, The Mays, who will be celebrating 40 years of playing live music next year.

The Mays started out as a four piece boy band of brothers in 1975, in Tillingham.

Over the years there have been changes to the line-up.

Currently the band consists of two new musicians, joining two of the original brothers Julian and David May.

Steve Houghton, their brother-in-law, has now been playing with the band for just over a year and a half and Rick Fitzpatrick is on drums.

Michael May, the family's eldest brother and original drummer often re-joins the band to perform.

The group plays a mixture of Beatles, Elvis, Cliff, The Quo and some of their own material, so they are a pop, rock ‘n’ roll band.

The Mays are currently working on new material, with the possibility of a new album in the not too distant future, but in the mean time they have re-released their 2005 three-track single CD, Tillingham Phone Box Blues, which is available via their website.
