Fire fighters and an ambulance attended the sticky crime scene yesterday.
They found a 60-year-old man had super glued his hand to a desk in the Civic Offices in New Road, Grays.
Leading firefighter Tom Wass said: "We were called to release a man who had super glued his hand to a desk.
"The man is believed to have been a disgruntled customer.
"We had a think about it and thought the best way to get him free was to use a solvent so we borrowed some nail varnish remover from the office staff and used it to dissolve the glue and free him."
Firefighters released the man by 5.02pm.
An Ambulance was called but the man declined treatment.
