A rescue centre welcomed a famous face as it launched a campaign to change the image of Staffies.
Allo Allo actress Vicki Michelle, MBE, spent an afternoon at AA Dog Rescue in Burnham Road, Latchingdon, where she made a fuss of the 80 four-legged residents to help promote the campaign Staffies Are Softer Than You Think.
Speaking of Saturday’s event, centre patron and volunteer Carla Bailey said: “She spoke to lots of owners and met lots of dogs as well and gave lots of cuddles.
“She has definitely helped raise our profile.”
*A fundraising dinner dance will be held in aid of the rescue centre and will include entertainment by 1976 Eurovision song contest winners Brotherhood of Man.
Tickets are £40 each and include a champagne reception, four-course meal, disco, tombola and raffle.
