Sound recordings of meetings of Maldon District Council may be introduced on a permanent basis.
A proposal has been made over whether the recording of committee and council meetings should become a permanent fixture.
The trial, which started in May and ran for one round of meetings for each of the main committees, was held to find if there were any technical problems associated with recording the meetings.
If passed, all committee and council meetings would be recorded apart from those not held in the council chamber, in Princes Road, Maldon.
A draft protocol for the use of the recordings has been submitted, stating that members of the press and public would also be allowed to make their own recordings but that recording would stop if a motion to exclude both parties is passed.
It added that recordings will be available for a year on the council’s website but will continue to be available on request.
A decision is expected to be made at tomorrow's council meeting.
