Hundreds of pounds of damage was caused to a council sign overnight last Monday.
The damage happened between 8pm on Monday evening and 7.30am on Tuesday morning at Orchard Meadow, Southfield Way, Southminster.
Damage was caused to the fibreglass ‘welcome’ sign and a wooden frame and posts and the sign was stolen.
Police reported a group of youths had been seen nearby the property which belongs to Maldon District Council.
The damage caused was valued at £500, while the stolen sign cost £300.
The area was previously targetted last August when vandals trashed the orchard.
