A concerned resident carried out a user survey at a recycling centre to prove just how well-used it is.
He carried out the survey, along with Bill Jones and Geoff Lindsay, on 6 and 9 June at the centre on Springfield Road.
Peter Elphinstone, 63, of Beauchamps, Burnham presented the findings to Burnham Town Council on June 23.
He said: “If you wanted civil unrest in this town, close the recycling centre.
“The support for it was 100%.”
Mayor Ron Pratt said: “The county council are always looking for ways of saving money and I can never say never, that is one of the concerns.
“But there is a lot of local feeling that it is well-used and it would be missed and the town council will support it’s continued use.”
