By-election for councillor resigning in first year

A COUNCILLOR is stepping down after less than a year in power.
Colleen O’Neill, councillor for Harwich West Central, is leaving her position at Harwich Town Council.
She has cited personal reasons for the exit, having only been elected to power in May 2011.
A by-election will be held after Tendring Council received letters from residents in the ward asking for the ballot.
