UPDATE: Power restored to Harwich

All homes and businesses which lost electricity in the early hours of this morning have now had their power restored.

Power was lost to 2,810 homes in the Station Road area of Harwich at 4.05am this morning after a fault with an underground cable.

A spokesman for electricity company UK Power Networks said power supplies were restored to all properties by 2.05pm.

She said: "We would like to apologise for the inconvenience caused, particularly in this cold weather."

Is it not amazing that they can spend billions on cash guzzling wind farms but cannot maintain the existing cabling infrastructure. There have been numerous power cuts in this area due to underground cable faults.
We are also paying through the nose for this.
Welcome to a greener britain
