Trees for the Queen

Trees for the Queen Trees for the Queen

YOUNGSTERS joined the Queen in planting special trees to mark the diamond jubilee.

Children from Highfields Primary School in Lawford helped to plant more than 100 trees at the village’s Owls Flight Dell on Friday February 3.

Owned by Tendring Council, the Flight Dell, at the top of the Lawford Dale estate, is close to an existing community orchard.

Planted in a row, the trees including Hawthorn, Blackthorn, Field Maple and Ash, will form a new hedge for wildlife.

Oak trees were also planted to supplement the exisiting orchard.

Perhaps they should have been planted at The Hangings to replace those that were lost.

Well said, TDC ought to have something on their conscience over the Hangings. Lets hope these trees are safe from developer greed.
