A PRIZE winning pet pooch scooped two top titles in one day at the worlds biggest dog show.
Charlie, a three-year-old yellow labrador, won a first place ribbon and a trophy at Crufts this month.
Owner, Alison Scutcher, of Wix, said: “I have got three labradors, I have been showing the breed for about 15 years.
“But I have never done as well as I did this year.
“To get one first place at Crufts is an achievement but to win two was excellent.”
Charlie won first place in the labrador special working class on Thursday March 11 and the same day went on to win the Gilbertson and Page Trophy for best working labrador against 23 competitors.
“I was absolutely delighted,” added Ms Scutcher.
“There were 560 labradors in all different classes and because he won his class he went on to compete in best of breed, though he didn’t win.
“We were competiting against the UK and champions from abroad - the quality of the classes was quite high.
“It was a very special day.”
Charlie has been strutting his stuff in shows across the country winning seven challenge certificates since he was a puppy making him a show champion.
But after her marriage broke up Ms Scutcher decided to give him a chance at working out in the field as a gundog picking up and retrieving game birds.
She added: “For the last two shooting seasons we have been working in Landermere [near Thorpe le Soken].
“Now he has been awarded a working gundog certificate and is a full champion.
“To get that with a show dog is quite an achievement “But he is my pet dog, he is special to me.
“He still sleeps on the bed and jumps on the sofa and is very cheeky.”
