A WIND farm company has been given thousands of pounds of funding for the next five years.
The team behind Galloper offshore wind farm has announced a £50,000 Community Investment Fund.
The funding means £10,000 will support charitable, educational and environmental activities in Harwich each year until 2022.
Applications to the fund will be administered on behalf of the Galloper project by Essex Community Foundation.
Galloper is the 353MW wind farm 30km of the coast of Suffolk.
The project awaits the outcome of a planning application for the permanent facility at Harwich International Port which will support the wind farm for about 23 years.
Galloper manager, Sean Chenery, said: “The is a way for the wider community to benefit by supporting a range of invaluable local projects."
