A GOVERNMENT planning inspector has given the go-ahead for a new home in Mistley.

Tendring Council had refused plans for the house on land off of Fairview in Heath Road, stating it was a remote location and outside of the village boundary.

But the inspector ruled that this was not necessarily a bar to development.

She also said that, although not built yet, historic planning permission for 135 homes on land opposite the proposed house meant it was not considered remote – ruling that on balance it should be given the go-ahead.

The ruling means outline planning permission has been granted.

Details such as design and access will need to be considered separately by the council at a later date.
