TALENTED pupils have climbed their way to the top to star in a Jack and the Beanstalk pantomime with celebrities.

Cacia Leoni Double, ten, and Becky Saunders, 12, starred in the pantomime along side former Britain’s Got Talent winner George Sampson and Emmerdale actress Roxanne Pallett.

Cacia, who attends Mayflower Primary School, Dovercourt, and Becky, from Harwich and Dovercourt High School, had to audition with more than 50 children to win a part as dancers in the production at the Regent Theatre, in Ipswich.

The girls, who have won numerous trophies in dance competitions, danced in the pantomime alongside other cast members.

Jade Calvert, Cacia’s mum, said: “Cacia has been dancing since the age of three and had gained confidence, winning over 100 trophies and medals, competing at competitions in freestyle, including the finals at the Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing Grand National finals of dance.

“Her friend Becky also has numerous trophies from completing in the last few years.

“They both had to go up against over 50 children and learn a dance routine to audition for Jack and the Beanstalk.

“We had to wait over three weeks to hear if they had got through. When myself and Becky’s mum Maria received the call to say they had been successful, we were overcome with pride and so excited for the experience they were going to have.”

The pantomime ran from Saturday, December 16 until Thursday, January 4.
