CARE home residents were treated to a week of fun and games with visiting schoolchildren.

Four and five-year-old children from Mayflower Primary School, in Dovercourt, played games, sung and read books with residents at Dovercourt House care home in Fronks Road.

A spokesman for the school said: “The early years foundation stage children from Mayflower Primary School spent a week visiting the residents of our local care home, Dovercourt House.

“The children participated in various activities with the residents, such as decorating biscuits, playing bingo, singing carols and sharing a book.

“The children, aged 4 and 5, have gained considerable skills over the week.

“They were all displaying good manners and showed respect whilst interacting with the elderly residents.

“All the staff from Dovercourt House made us very welcome and we are looking forward to our next visit.”
