A WOMAN with a lifelong interest in William Shakespeare has released a book on the playwright’s early life.

Marguerite Kramer, of Main Road, Dovercourt, has published a novel about Shakespeare’s early “lost” years entitled What You Will.

The book delves into the younger years of the famous playwright with segments about his family and Anne Hathaway.

Mrs Kramer reveals how Shakespeare worked, among other jobs, as a tutor in Hoghton Tower, and that his father was in debt and had been given fines for not attending church.

The book also explores how Shakespeare met Anne Hathaway and was persuaded into marrying her before she gave birth to their daughter, and explains she threw some of his sonnets addressed to another woman in a fire.

Mrs Kramer said the book took her eight months to complete before it was released on Amazon on October 28.

She said: “There was a lot of research needed for this book because there is little widely known on the background to William Shakespeare’s life.

“The reason for writing it was because there are so many biographies which focus on his plays and not the man behind them.”

She said she wanted to write the book for others to learn about what his family and early life was like.

She said: “I have read so many books about him and there is little known about his life.”
