A HEALTH group has handed £10,000 to a children's charity.
Harwich Fellowship for the Sick donated the cashpot to East Anglia's Children's Hospice at a coffee morning last week.
Cheryl Thompson, treasurer, said: "The £10,000 represents a really significant contribution to the care EACH gives to the children in our area who suffer from life-limiting conditions as well as the support EACH provides to parents and whole families.
"Two children from our area were looked after at EACH last year.
"The average cost of the hospice care for a child was £18,356, so the cost last year relating directly to our area was £37,712.
"So it can be seen how significant a proportion the fellowship and its supporters have covered."
