A VINEYARD in Ardleigh is set to grow after being given the green light to expand its facilities.
A scheme for the site in Coggeshall Road involves putting up a new barn to store equipment as well as a new glasshouse to propagate vines, shrubs and trees.
Tendring Council has granted planning permission for the application which also includes removing some older large glasshouses.
The council said its policy is to promote a strong rural economy and help such enterprises expand through converting existing buildings or creating well-designed new ones.
A spokesman said: “This proposal is to provide the necessary facilities to support and grow the existing vineyard business.
The removal of a large expanse of unused and dilapidated glasshouses will declutter the landscape and improve the visual amenity.”
