GREEN-FINGERED youngsters clubbed together to create a peace garden in time for the summer season.
A total of 26 year five pupils from All Saints’ Primary School, in Dovercourt, planted a host of flowers and plants in a community garden in Elizabeth Road on Wednesday.
As well as potting dozens of plants, the children also tidied the garden to get it looking at its best for the months ahead.
Resident Anne Perritt, who helped organise the visits from the children, said she was delighted how the event went.
She said: “It was a fantastic day and we had beautiful weather for planting flowers.
“The mayor helped the children plant the flowers and there were councillors there on hand to help too.
“There was also a cake stall outside with drinks and refreshments for the children for their hard work.
“It was nice that members of the community also came to visit the garden to see what we were doing.”
