A MAN has been ordered to carry out 100 hours of unpaid work after stealing a £774 shed from his employer.
Edward Fletton, 23, was working at The Shed Centre, in Marks Tey, when he stole the ten feet by eight feet shed as well as a separate eight-foot shed panel.
A day later, he tried to sell the shed and panel on for £605 to an unknowing couple.
Fletton, of Parkeston Road, in Dovercourt, admitted theft by employee on October 5, 2016 and fraud by false representation on October 6, 2016 when he appeared at Colchester Magistrates' Court yesterday.
Magistrates ordered him to carry out 100 hours of unpaid work within one year.
He must also pay £505 in compensation to The Shed Centre.
