RUN-DOWN Manningtree roads are set for resurfacing in 2017 after a long campaign.
Mark Morsley, mayor of Manningtree Town Council, has spent months calling for action to address the state of two key roads in the town.
He described the quality of previous roadworks as “disgraceful” and called for a more permanent resurfacing.
At a meeting of the town council, county councillor Carlo Guglielmi said South Street and High Street has been scheduled for resurfacing by Essex Highways.
It is expected that those works will start in the spring.
