A MIRACLE man who spent three weeks on a life support machine after a horrific crash has returned home to his family.

Mark Sale, 34, of Dovercourt, was given a slim chance of survival after being involved in a crash in Suffolk on September 5.

He spent three weeks in intensive care and was placed in an induced coma.

But remarkably he is now walking and talking again.

Support for his family flooded in following the crash, with thousands of pounds raised through justgiving pages and charity events.

A fun day held at Harwich and Parkeston Football Club drew hundreds of suppor ters and raised £1,283.

Mark’s brother Lee raised £650 when he traversed a difficult route to the top of Mount Snowdon, the highest mountain in Wales, while a justgiving page set up in support of his family raised a further £2,500.

Now Mark’s family say they are “delighted” after experiencing “four dreadful and emotional weeks.”

Mark was set to be sent home from Addenbrooke’s Hospital in Cambridge on Tuesday.

Lee said: “We would like to thank the people of Harwich and Dovercourt for all their love and support and donations in aid of Mark.

“Four weeks ago we did not think in our wildest dreams that we would be in this position, where doctors are now saying Mark can come home.

“Mark has made an incredible recovery and I know he would love to thank everyone for their continued support.

“As a community you have shown what the true meaning of friendship is all about.

“To all of Mark’s friends and family we salute you.

"You will never know how much your love and support has helped us over these four dreadful and emotional weeks.”

He added: “For three of those weeks he was still in intensi ve care and on a life support machine.

“The doctors are saying he is a miracle.

“It is really unheard of how quick his recovery has been.

“He is talking and walking now.

“He still has broken ribs and obviously he will need to rest for many weeks to come, but it is just amazing really.”
