TENS of thousands of people have been enjoying this year's Tendring Show.

The agricultural and family show, which last year celebrated its centenary, is this year focusing on the future of farming.

It is being held at Lawford House Park, in Bromley Road, Lawford today.

The show includes a special i-Farm theme area that will allow visitors to explore the robotics and new technologies that are transforming farming and food production.

The show was first held in 1899 and is aimed at bringing the rural and urban populations of north Essex together.

Tom Glover, spokesman for the show, this week said: “This year’s iFarm theme will be a fantastic opportunity for visitors to check out the exciting technology and robotics that are changing the way we produce our food now and in the future.

“We expect over 20,000 visitors on the day and there is something very special about this one-day show.

“Last year, we celebrated the 100th show and looked back at the history of the club.

“We’re now very much looking ahead to the future and next 100.”
