A TEDDY bears’ picnic and family fun day will take place in Ramsey to help raise money for a new special needs playgroup in the village.

Tumbling Tots and the Ramsey War Memorial Hall will be staging the event at the Church Hill venue.

It is aimed at raising enough cash to help set up the new playgroup for youngsters with learning difficulties.

The picnic and fun day will include stalls, refreshments, inflatables, pony rides, games, the Tumbling Tots pre-school area and raffle prizes donated by local businesses.

There will also be mascot bears from spina bifida and hydrocephalus charity Shine and the Tumbling Tots group, as well as face-painting, ice creams, candy floss, a beer tent, tea and cakes.

Suzanne Howe, secretary of the Ramsey War Memorial Hall, said: “We are sharing the proceeds with the charity Shine and also for a free special needs playgroup we are looking to set up.

“The playgroup will be supported by Tumbling Tots.”

The fun day will take place on July 16 from 11.30am-2.30pm.
