SIX people were rushed to hospital after two cars collided.

At about 10.30pm last night the vehicles crashed in Wrabness Road, Ramsey.

Firefighters cut two people out of one of the cars after about 90 minutes while providing oxygen therapy for the pain.

Five ambulances, the air ambulance and two specialist rescue teams were called to the scene.

A spokesman for the ambulance service said: "One patient with serious leg and pelvic injuries was flown to Addenbrookes for further care.

"Five other patients, who were all collared and boarded, were taken to Colchester General Hospital and Ipswich hospital.

"Their injuries are believed to be non-life threatening."
