A DYNAMIC and award-winning British blues band will take to the stage at the Electric Palace next week.

Zoe Schwarz and Blue Commotion have come to the fore of the British blues scene after an exciting and intensely busy three years of music.

Their latest album, I’ll Be Yours Tonight, a live performance recording, follows hard on the heels of two acclaimed studio albums, both of which generated a series of awards and nominations at the British Blues Awards.

Zoe Schwarz has a passionate and commanding vocal style and has seen success in a very short space of time.

She is a new artist adding a fresh approach to the UK blues scene.

They pay their first visit to Harwich and to the Electric Palace stage after catching the attention of organisers at the venue.

Rob Koral, guitarist and husband of Zoe, said: “We’ve been together as a group for four-and-a-half years and recently got a call from the Electric Palace.

“They were really friendly, enthusiastic and up for having us, so we are very much looking forward to making our first visit to the town.

“I think the audience can expect something very vibrant and spontaneous, with a lot of musical energy – it’s a fresh sound and not clichéd.

“There will be music from all albums and one or two pieces which haven’t been played yet, so there will be a real sample of what we do.”

Zoe and Rob have been performing together for ten years, and the first Blue Commotion gig in February 2012 was a culmination of their work together. Each of the band members are allowed the freedom to express their musical diversity to give their own personal stamp on each song written.

The band pride themselves on playing original music, and have received critical acclaim for doing so.

They regularly play at festivals and clubs, and are set to appear at Ealing Blues Festival, the biggest dedicated blues event in Britain, in July.

Catch Zoe Schwarz and Blue Commotion at the Electric Palace, in Harwich, at 8pm on Thursday.

Tickets cost £10 and can be bought at electricpalace.com.
