A DRIVER and passenger were trapped after their car sped off the road and was left teetering on a steep embankment.

Firefighters were called the crash, on Harwich Road, between Ardleigh and Lawford, at 11.59am on Tuesday October 6.

An Essex Fire Service spokesperson said: "The car had left the roadway and at the side of the road was an embankment.

"It had climbed the embankment and was balanced on its underbelly so it was rocking.

"One crew stabilised the vehicle while another helped the driver and a passenger get out."

"They were left in the care of the Ambulance Service."
