A HALLOWEEN fancy dress competition will be held as part of this year's Guy Carnival.
The extra competition has been organised as this year's carnival is being held on October 31 - halloween.
It will take place at 5.30pm at the top of Ainger Road in Dovercourt alongside the traditional fancy dress competition, before the carnival procession sets off at 6.30pm.
Greg Bloss, of Harwich Rotary Club, which organises the carnival, said: "We had an excellent turn out of floats last year and are looking to repeat that this year.
"We would also like to put out an appeal for extra marshalls to help steward the event. This is even more important this year due to the reduced presence of the police at the event."
