A SCHOOL has launched a Twitter campaign in a bid to persuade star Radio 1 presenter Greg James to open their new radio station.
Pupils and staff at Harwich and Dovercourt High School are bombarding the drivetime DJ with tweets begging him to visit.
The school is about to launch its own radio station - Harwich Waves.
Head of media Pippa Parks sent a tweet to Greg asking him to do the honours.
He replied: “Hey lovely people, when is it?”
“I said any date after October 8 but as of yet we’ve not had a reply,” said Mrs Parks, who is also head of sixth form.
“That’s why I want even more students to tweet him.
“We want the whole community to tweet Greg James to get him here to Harwich.”
