PARISH councillors have decided to remain neutral about a potential major housing development in a neighbouring village.

Mistley Parish Council voted not to oppose the plans for 360 homes proposed for Lawford Green off Bromley Road which have been submitted by Rose Builders at their latest meeting on Monday.

Councillors want to ensure there is minimal impact on green wedges and visual impact.

They also have concerns about traffic in the area, and the strain a new development would put on healthcare provision and schools.

As well as homes the scheme also includes the entrance to Lawford Primary School changed, a new car park, parish council building and camp site.

Manningtree Town Council has already objected to the plans and Lawford Parish Council has requested more time to submit their comments.

Tendring Council has the final say on the plans.
