SECURITY workers have been dealt a fresh blow after being told they will not receive holiday pay after the firm they work for entered administration.

Employees of Taylor Made Secure Solutions which provides security at Harwich International Port went five weeks without pay after administrators were called in.

Now they have been paid for the work they have completed between July 7 and July 14 but administrators Resolve have informed staff they will not be paid for any holiday they have taken or they have already booked.

An employee who did not wish to be named said: “We are now being paid on a weekly basis but were told we had to work a week in advance before the first pay packet arrived.

“That meant we worked six weeks without being paid and we received a letter from the administrators to say we would only be paid for core hours and there will be no holiday pay.

“I am struggling – obviously getting some money does help to pay some bills but it will not cover rent or a mortgage payment for the whole of June and it is a case of borrowing the money to pay that.

“There are those who are struggling very badly and are having to resort to selling household goods like televisions and games consoles – it is not very good at all.”

The Standard contacted the administrators but did not receive a response.
