CONTROVERSIAL plans for 360 homes to be built in Lawford have been submitted to Tendring Council.

The outline plans are for the homes, two vehicle access points, new primary school access and a community building on Bromley Road.

If given the green light it would also see public toilets built along with a junior camping field, village green and public open space.

Rose Builders hopes the development could become the future hub of Lawford.

If given the go-ahead, the plans would see the entrance to the primary school in Long Road moved and a drop-off car park area created in an effort to ease congestion.

The planning statement said: “By far the most important community benefit will be the resolution of the current daily traffic chaos unavoidably caused by a combination of parents dropping off and picking up their children and the busy rush hour traffic on Long Road.

“Fears are growing that it is simply a matter of time before there is a serious accident.”

Tendring Council will have the final say on the plans.
