COFFEE giants Costa will be opening their new Harwich store on Monday.

The company is opening the business in half of the former Bonmarche shop, at Harwich Gateway Retail Park, off Freshfields Road.

Tendring Council gave planning permission for the shop to be split in two units last year.

The new store is set to create 15 jobs.

Costa will join B&M, Argos, Peacocks and Brantano, which are already trading on the retail park.

The new store will open at 7am.

Store manager Sharon Carter said the team was excited for the grand opening.

“The store looks fantastic,” she said.

“We got all the staff locally.

“Every time I am in Harwich people always ask me when bit is going to open.

“It is a big thing for the town – it is quite a big name to come to the town.

“We can’t wait to get going.”

Sandwich firm Subway is rumoured to be taking over the other half of the unit, though the company has yet to publicly confirm this.
