A CHARITY is calling for the speed limit outside a children’s play area to be halved in an effort to prevent accidents.
Ramsey War Memorial Hall unveiled its new play area, in Wix Road, in October last year.
But charity bosses are concerned for the safety of youngsters, as the speed limit only drops to 30mph after the entrance to the park.
They are calling for the limit to be lowered from the entrance of Wix Road at the A120, and for signage warning drivers about the park to be installed.
Secretary Suzanne Howe said: “To us, it is completely unacceptable.”
The charity has been running an online survey about its plans and will also undertake a vehicle survey, which it will present to the Tendring Local Highways Panel.
