A MANNINGTREE band is set to take to the stage at a major UK festival where two of its members met and fell in love.

SuperGlu will perform at Latitude in July.

The group, previously known as Ben Club, got their big break when they were played on national radio station Radio 1 last year.

Now they will perform at the Suffolk festival after being put forward by BBC Introducing.

The band consists of Ben Brown, his younger brother Alex, girlfriend Krista and best friend Ben Ward.

They are signed to Ipswich based Antigen Records.

Ben Ward said: “We turned down a major record deal and released a single with a local record label – it felt like the right thing to do.

“Our bass player and our singer – Krista Lynch and Ben Brown – met at Latitude three years ago and fell in love. “Now they are going back to Latitude to play.”

The band are currently recording their debut EP and hope to release it in August.

They will play on the Lake stage at 2pm on July 17. To find out more, go to latitudefestival.com
