A HOST of stellar comedy names, including Essex lad Russell Kane, have been added to this year’s V Festival line-up.

The Glee Club Comedy Tent is no stranger so hosting house-hold names as well as up and coming talent and this year is no different.

Headlining across the weekend at Hylands Park in Chelmsford will be Kane and controversial Scottish comic Frankie Boyle.

Kane, who hails from Westlciff, is known for appearances on Live at the Apollo and his world-wide stand up tours, where he’s currently in Australia.

Scot Frankie Boyle’s act isn’t for the faint at the heart, but his routine always makes headlines. When he’s not touring, he can often be seen on popular show Mock the Week.

The duo will appear alongside an array of comedy heavyweights including Seann Walsh, who recently took part in E4’s Virtually Famous; Shappi Khorsandi, Nick Helm and Gary Delaney.

This year will be the 20th anniversary of the festival and it’s pulled out all the stops for a huge line-up.

Headlining the main stage will be Leicester-rockers Kasabian and Scottish DJ Calvin Harris.

Also appearing across the weekend will be Sam Smith, Stereophonics, James Bay, Tom Jones, Ellie Goulding and The Charlatans.

The event takes place over the weekend of August 22 ad 23. Tickets are available from www.vfestival.com
