MORE than 40 youngsters enjoyed pony rides as part of a special charity fun day in Ramsey.
Care manager Marie Bonnier, of Main Road, Dovercourt, held the event at Windmill Field on Good Friday to help raise money for her disabled cousin Molly Sullivan, of St Leonards in East Sussex.
The five-year-old needs a selective dorsal rhizotomy operation to help her to walk, following complications at birth.
The Tree of Hope charity hopes to raise £60,000 for specialist surgery in St Louis in the US.
Mrs Bonnier, who rents the field for her ponies, decided to open it up for the day to raise money for the campaign.
“It’s something so close to my heart,” she said. “We had a great charity fun day with pony rides, an Easter egg hunt and a quiz, and the youngsters groomed the ponies.
“They all enjoyed the day, despite a spot of rain.”
The event raised £270 for the campaign, which has so far raised £9,400 towards the £60,000 total.
