A SEWING school has teamed up with a seamstress for a special pop-up shop.

The Cloth Clinic, based in Dedham, is hosting the Modern Handmade event with Emma Powell, from Thea Lily Loves, who creates clothes for babies, children and women.

Sisters Sally Lewis and Nancy Bell set up the sewing school in April last year.

They offer sewing classes helping people to learn everything from making dresses to creating cushion covers.

The event, which will take place on Saturday, will showcase handcraft designers and makers.

Ranging from bespoke clothing and textiles art to home accessories, paper cutting, jewellery and ceramics, the Modern Handmade event is an opportunity to discover and buy unique, hand-made, quality work and gifts.

Makers attending the event include Lucy Lockets Jewellery, Poppy May Creations, Little Bit O Nicey and many more.

It takes place at the school, based at 3B Dedham Vale Business Centre, in Manningtree Road, Dedham, from 10am to 4pm.

Goodie bags will be given away to the first 50 people who come along and there will be a ten per cent discount on sewing classes for all visitors on the day.
