A PUNK poet who toured with the Sex Pistols and a jewellery maker whose works have appeared on the silver screen will be launching a new fundraising auction for the Harwich Mayflower Project.

John Cooper-Clarke, whose career has spanned three decades, will be at the George Street home of the ship build project on Monday as part of the charity's latest fundraising bid.

The Colchester-based performance poet, famous for his biting, satirical verse, will be sporting a specially designed piece of jewellery.

John will be modelling the first, and only, Harwich Mayflower gentleman’s gold ring designed by Stephen Einhorn, whose creations have appeared on Charlize Theron in blockbuster Snow White and the Huntsman and Angelina Jolie in the award-winning Disney recreation Maleficent.

Further details about the auction will be released to the public after the event.
